Cardiologists often advise against certain foods that can negatively impact heart health when consumed in excess. Here are five foods that cardiologists commonly recommend limiting or avoiding:

Processed Meats: Processed meats like bacon, sausage, hot dogs, and deli meats are high in sodium and saturated fats, which can raise cholesterol levels and increase the risk of heart disease.

Trans Fats: Foods containing trans fats, such as fried foods, packaged snacks, baked goods, and margarine, should be avoided. Trans fats raise LDL (bad) cholesterol levels while lowering HDL (good) cholesterol, leading to an increased risk of heart disease and stroke.

Sugary Beverages: Sugary beverages like soda, energy drinks, and sweetened fruit juices contribute to weight gain, insulin resistance, and elevated blood sugar levels.

Highly Processed Foods: Foods high in refined carbohydrates, added sugars, and unhealthy fats, such as fast food, packaged snacks, sugary cereals, and pre-packaged meals, should be limited.
