Golden Rum Cake

Ingredients 1 cup chopped walnuts 1 (15.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix 4 large eggs

1 cup dark rum, divided ¾ cup water, divided ½ cup vegetable oil 1 cup white sugar ½ cup butter

Directions Prepare the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) with all ingredients.

Flour and grease a 10-inch Bundt pan. Evenly sprinkle chopped walnuts over the pan bottom.

Mix cake and pudding mixes in a large bowl. Add eggs, 1/2 cup rum, 1/2 cup water, and oil and combine well. Put batter over chopped nuts in pan.

Baking in preheated oven until toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean, about 1 hour.

While making the glaze: Stir sugar, butter, and 1/4 cup water in a saucepan. Boil over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring regularly, until thickened and slightly darkened. Off heat, whisk in remaining 1/2 cup rum.

Invert cake onto a platter after 10 minutes in the pan. Brush glaze on sides and top. Let cake absorb glaze and repeat until all is utilized.
